Wulf Schoenweitz, who was born on December 14, 1945, passed away at the age of 80 after a short but courageous battle with Stage IV Glioblastoma on January 24, 2026.
Wulf was known for his quiet demeanor and humbleness. His passions were hunting with his crossbow, going fishing whether it be in his boat or on the ice, and gun deer hunting. He also enjoyed being at the “round table” at the Panther Café in Gilmanton conversing with “the guys”.
He spent his career as a mechanic, a truck driver, and a coatings specialist.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sibyl; children, Ramona (Ronald) Walsdorf of Kiel, Steve (Melissa Oliver) Schoenweitz of Markesan, Mark (Cathy) Schoenweitz of rural Mondovi, and Mary Jo Thompson of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by his grandchildren Zack and Logan Thompson Kellie Walsdorf, and Colton Schoenweitz. Wulf is also survived by his brother Klemens Diethelm of Lake City, MN and his sister Verena (Ron) Recznik of British Columbia, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Christian and one sister, Barbara.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Talbot Funeral Home in Mondovi with an hour of visitation prior. In honor of Wulf, please wear your favorite hunting or fishing apparel.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Wulf’s name.
The family would like to thank the Marshfield Cancer Clinic Radiation Oncology team, Oakleaf Medical Oncology Team, Lakeland In Home Healthcare, St. Croix Hospice, Gary Preston, and other relatives, neighbors, and friends that helped Wulf during his time of need.
