Wanda Virgine Bauer

Wanda Virgine Bauer, age 87, of Mondovi, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at her home with her loving family at her side.

She was born in Durand on March 17, 1936 to John C. and Rosetta (Tappe) Bauer.

Wanda married Richard Wise in 1956, they later divorced and in 1973, she married Lyle Carothers, they later divorced.

Wanda took great pride in her profession as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was employed for many years at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi.

She was a longtime and faithful member of Prince of Peace Covenant Church of Mondovi.

Wanda will be remembered for her selfless, caring and charitable heart that would put the needs of her family, friends and community before the needs of her own.

Wanda is survived by her children, Richard, Mike (Sue), Jeff (Cindy), Kerry (Jennie), Paul (Sue), Anita (Kory) Kwakenat and step daughter, Roxanne Brown; grandchildren, Jason (Danielle), Krista (Ty) Phoenix, Andy, Kristen (Scott) Peterson, Megan (Jackson) Serum, Michael (Loan), Elysia, Trista (Bart) Greiner, Amanda  (Brandon) Thompson, Josh (Erin), Tony, Danielle (Jeremy) Schoenfuss, Shaun, Katrina, Dennis (Renee) Waller, Paul Waller, Pat (Victoria) Waller, Randy Waller, Jermaine, Josie and Jesiah, Jessie and Luke Brown; 55 great grandchildren; 3 great–great grandchildren; siblings, John (Joyce) Bauer, Eric (Claire) Bauer and Freda (Jerry) Mueller; Wanda is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brittany Wise and sisters, Vergie, Phylis and MarJoan.

A celebration of Wanda's life will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Covenant Church with Pastor Ileana Garcia-Soto officiating.  Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery.  A gathering for both friends and family will be held on Wednesday, December 13 from 10:00 AM until the hour of Wanda's celebration of life.
