Ruth Adelaide Mueller

Ruth Adelaide Mueller, age 88, of Town of Lincoln, Buffalo County, WI, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at her home. She was born on December 16, 1928 in the Town of Gilmanton, a daughter of the late Robert and Isabelle (Brixen) Steinke. Ruth attended Gilmanton Schools, graduating with the Gilmanton High School Class of 1946. She then attended the Buffalo County Normal School. She taught three years at the Griffin School. On June 9, 1951, Ruth was united in marriage to Elwood “Bud” Mueller in Mondovi. Ruth worked alongside her husband on their farm in the town of Lincoln, where they raised their two sons. Bud preceded her in death on March 2, 2007. Ruth was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Gilmanton where she taught Sunday School for 20 years and also served on both the Dorcas Society and as the financial secretary. Ruth enjoyed time spent with her family and friends where sharing a meal together was always a pleasure. Ruth will be sadly missed by her children and their spouses, Daniel and Dianne Mueller and James and Katherine Mueller; her special granddaughter, Monica Mueller; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends and her godchildren, Linda Lattimer, Bruce Meier, Luann Babros, Daniel Folkedahl, Sherry Brixen and Dale Amundson. Besides her parents and husband, Bud, Ruth was preceded in death by her siblings, Edna (Harry) Fluekiger, Irene (Roy) Thompson, Doris (Vilas) Herold, Arnold (Jean) Steinke; sisters in law, Gloria (Milan) Schieche and Ilsa Smith. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gilmanton, WI. Burial will be at Gilmanton Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel and again on Friday, at the church, from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
