Robin R. Brunsch

Robin R. Brunsch, age 74, of Mondovi, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. Robin deeply loved life and fought his illness with determination and hope, trusting always in the Lord’s greater plan. Though he longed to stay, his faith carried him forward into eternal peace.

Robin was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 31, 1951. He graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee and continued his education at Milwaukee School of Engineering, earning an associate degree in Computer Engineering Technology. He later followed a new calling, earning a second associate degree in Surveying from Milwaukee Area Technical College.

On October 14, 1972, Robin married the love of his life, Julie Williams, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lighthouse Point, FL. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to love, faith, and lifelong partnership. While they shared 53 years of cherished married memories together, their story truly began long before. Their lives were woven together from the very beginning, growing up side by side--the children of parents who were best friends.

Robin fully embraced life with joy, passion, and gratitude. He found happiness in the simple, sacred moments—casting a line into the water, walking through the woods, singing camp songs, reading daily devotions and Scripture, or preparing a meal for those he loved. He had a special affection for his Labrador Retrievers, raising four beloved yellow companions over the years. In a touching reflection of his loyal heart, he waited to go home to Jesus until his youngest dog returned to him from Texas. Even in his final days, when his strength had faded, Robin could be seen moving his right arm and hand as though casting a fishing line—his spirit already at peace in the place he loved most.

Robin’s professional life reflected both his entrepreneurial spirit and his deep appreciation for people. He began his career as a quality technician at Johnson Controls and later worked at Kearney & Trecker as a buyer. It was here that he met Henry “Hank” Allen, the owner of Electrol, a small wire and cable harness manufacturing company. This meeting would change the course of his life. Seeing potential where others might not, Robin joined Electrol as a salesman and eventually purchased the company, growing it from 12 employees to more than 150.

Julie joined him at Electrol in 1987, and together they built not only a highly successful company but a workplace grounded in respect, gratitude, and care. In 1997, they expanded into a larger facility in North Lake, Wisconsin. Robin often said that the company’s success was not his own, but the result of the fine quality of the people around him. Among other sacrificial acts of generosity toward his employees, the company-wide monthly lunches he provided—where he shared updates, goals, encouragement, and heartfelt thanks—became a reflection of his servant leadership and giving spirit.

After 15 years, Robin felt called to begin again, and he and Julie sold Electrol. With characteristic humility and humor, he said that now that he was “grown up,” he would become a land surveyor. He returned to school, graduated with honors, and began working with the Eau Claire County Surveyor’s Office, facilitating a move to Buffalo County. Upon completion of the necessary requirements, Robin again branched out on his own and founded RB Land Surveying, Inc., serving Buffalo, Trempealeau, and Pepin Counties. He found deep joy in walking the land—experiencing God’s creation firsthand in the quiet beauty of fields, woods, and open skies.

Robin was an active member of the Blackhawk Retriever Club in Gilmanton, Wisconsin, where he trained and ran his dogs in hunting tests. He took great pride in guiding one of his Labradors to achieve the titles of Master Hunter and Qualified All-Age 2. Whether serving as Treasurer or preparing meals for the workers at club events, Robin gave his time and talents generously, always striving for excellence. A glimpse of how deeply he poured himself into everything he did can be seen in the simple example of the meals he and Julie prepared for the club. Robin took extreme care and time in choosing and purchasing the finest ingredients to use in every meal he and Julie provided.

Faith was the cornerstone of Robin’s life. He lived his love for God not just in words, but through faithful service. He served in church leadership roles, including Finance Chair and Staff Parish Relations Committee Chair, and found joy in fellowship through activities like the Mondovi Church Dart Ball League. His love of cooking became a ministry of its own—coordinating Easter breakfasts, providing weekly treats, and becoming the beloved “maker of soups” for Lenten Soup and Study gatherings.

Robin’s servant’s heart extended into the community through the Sharing Table, a monthly meal organized through the Mondovi Food Pantry. From its humble beginnings in 2015, serving 45 people, it grew to nourish an average of 176 individuals each month. Robin was determined that it would be much more than a soup kitchen—it would be an experience of dignity, warmth, and abundance that would ensure that each participant would receive an entire delicious home-cooked meal, He poured himself into every detail, trusting God to provide, even when the numbers of participants were uncertain. Julie faithfully worked beside him, their partnership a quiet but powerful witness to love in action.

Beneath Robin’s life of faith and service was a season of profound sorrow. After years of hoping for a child, Robin and Julie were blessed with their son, Aaron Matthew, in January 1982. Aaron’s life, though brief, was deeply meaningful. Born with an initially undetected rare genetic condition, he passed away in October 1986. Through this heartbreaking journey, Robin remained steadfast—loving, providing, and trusting God even in grief. In the years that followed, he transformed his sorrow into compassion, allowing it to shape a life devoted to taking joy in simple blessings and serving others.

Robin leaves behind his beloved wife, Julie; his sister, Susan Frerich; his brother, Greg Brunsch; sisters-in-law Jennifer Daniels, Judy (Randy) Willis, and Joanne Avis (Michael Rogers), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, wonderful friends. Each of them carries a piece of his legacy in their hearts.

He was welcomed into eternal life by his son, Aaron Matthew Brunsch; his parents, Mary and Walter Brunsch; his parents-in-law, Nita and Chad Williams; and other loved ones who have gone before him.

Robin will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to Julie, his deep and abiding faith, his love of the outdoors, his passion for fishing, his radical generosity, his warm humor, and his servant’s heart. His legacy lives on not only in what he built, but in the countless lives he touched, the meals he shared, the boundless love he had for family, friends, and community, and the kindness he gave so freely.
