Richard Molitor

Richard C. Molitor, age 75, known to his friends as Rich and his family as Dick, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Mayo Health System in Eau Claire. He was born on July 28, 1942 to the late Dorwin and Elizabeth (Stuewer) Molitor. In 1960 Rich enlisted to honorably serve and protect the United States as a member of the U.S Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, Rich enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Rich was a longtime, faithful and respected member of Our Savior's United Methodist Church in Mondovi, where he served on the church council and was on the dart ball team. Even though he lived in Eau Claire, his heart remained in Mondovi. He enjoyed his daily trips to meet up with his friends at various restaurants for coffee or a bite to eat. Rich will be remembered for his intelligent and creative mind as he loved writing poetry, along with sketching and painting local scenery and wildlife. He also loved designing, building and flying model airplanes. His musical talents included playing the accordion and attending community music events. He took great pride in all things that he did. One of his greatest accomplishments was obtaining his pilot's license. Rich is survived by his sister and brother in law, Jean and David Larson; nieces, Melissa (Alan) Ostertag and Marla (Eric) Severson all of Eleva; also by two great nieces, five great nephews, two great-great nieces, one great-great nephew along with many dear friends. Besides his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his niece, Michelle Larson, the twin sister of Melissa. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's United Methodist Church in Mondovi with Pastor Claire Mather officiating. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday at the church from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service. The staff of Talbot family funeral home is assisting with arrangements.
