Richard "Dick" John Swanson

Richard “Dick” Swanson, 82, of Minneiska, passed away on July 15, 2026.

Dick was born on August 8, 1943, in Wabasha to Larry and Lucille. He graduated from Cotter High School, proudly served in the United States Army, and later worked for many years at Sugar Loaf Ford.

Dick enjoyed boating on the Mississippi, playing softball, listening to music and spending time with his family and friends.

Dick is survived by his wife, Jackie; his children, Shelly (Brett) and Nissa (Jesse); his grandchildren, Jake (Raelyn), Shelbi (Nick), Millie (Kaden), Owen (Hannah), Payton, Max, and Lucy; his great-grandson, Levi; his brother, Bob (Marge); and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Lucille; his brothers, Harold, Ray, Jerry, and Denny; his sister, Pat; and his nephews, Don and Mike.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Gundersen Care Center and St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided to Dick.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Additional details will be shared when available.
