Patricia D. (O'Brian) Klopp-Steiner

Patricia D. (O'Brian) Klopp-Steiner, age 93, of Mondovi, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023
at the Homeplace in Mondovi.
She was born on October 5, 1929 at the home of her parents, the late Lauren and Lucille
(Remington) O'Brian.
Pat attended Osseo High School for 3 years and after that she went to work for Huebsch Laundry
and Dry Cleaners where she worked through her senior year at Eau Claire High School.
She met her friend’s brother, Norman Klopp after he was discharged from the military. They
married on January 24, 1948 and together raised a family of 7 children on a farm in Buffalo
County.
In the fall of 1960, she began working at Arcadia Industries until there closing in 1966. Pat went
on to work at National Presto in Eau Claire on the shell line and stayed there until the contract
was fulfilled. Pat then remained at home and read meters for Riverland Energy for a few years.
She also worked at the Panther Café and Gilmanton Schools in food service. She was employed
at Western Dairyland in Mondovi when on December 10, 1991 her husband, Norman became ill
with cancer. Norman died on February 11, 1992.
She later worked at Ashley Furniture and Phillips Plastics in Eau Claire and later worked for Life
Net Home Care and took care of her mother before she went to a nursing home.
Pat sold her home and moved to a house near Gilmanton. On November 11, 2006, she and
Robert Steiner married at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Bob died on December 27, 2015.
Following Bob’s death, Pat moved in with her grandson, Matt Bloom until a flood destroyed
most everything. She moved to a duplex in Mondovi on September 1, 2016.
On July 15, 2016, her son, James L. Klopp, passed away.
Surviving Pat are her remaining children, Kenneth (Sybil) Klopp, Stephen (Karla) Klopp,
Virginia (David) Cope, Margaret Sessions, Bonnie (Gary) Bloom and Henry (Tosha) Klopp;
brother, Michael (Kathy) O’Brian; sister, Kathy (Norm) Brunkow; sisters in law, Rose Sippel
and Doris Sie; brother in lawDuane (Donna) Klopp; 27 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 10
great grandchildren; also by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Preceding Pat in death were her parents, step father, Carl Gilgan; brother, Richard O’Brian;
sister, Carol Hiess; her husbands, Norman G. Klopp and Robert N. Steiner; son, James L. Klopp;
grandchildren, Melinda Alanna Bloom, Kimberly Dawn Klopp and Jessica Sessions; great
grandson, Dakota “Cody” Au; son in law, Terry Lee Sessions; along with many loving family
members.
A memorial service for Patricia will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church, Mondovi with Pastor Luke Pederson officiating.  Inurnment will follow at the
church cemetery.
A memorial gathering will be held at the church on Saturday, August 5, from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.
