Norma J. Raynes

Norma J. Raynes, age 74 of Mondovi, WI died Monday, March 9, 2015 at The Plum City Care Center in Plum City, WI with her husband by her side. Norma Jean was born July 12, 1940 in Eau Claire, WI to George and Lorraine (LaDuke) Horn. She graduated from Mondovi High School and moved to the southeastern part of Wisconsin. She was employed by Hamilton Beach, by Insinkirator Garbage Disposals and was a Quality Control Inspector for AC Spark Plug Co. Due to a rare medical condition, Norma was forced to retire in 1984. This did not keep her down, as she received her Real Estate Sales license and worked until a fall forced her into retirement. Norma loved all sorts of Music and enjoyed going to Plays. She enjoyed traveling and she and Cal took several cruises. Most of all; she loved her grandchildren. She married L. Calvin Raynes on September 15, 1985 in Sturtevent, WI. and in 1996 they moved back to Mondovi. In the fall of 2007 her disease had worsened until she had to have 24 hour a day care and resided until her death at The Plum City Care Center in Plum City, WI where her care had been impecable. Norma is survived by her husband, Cal of Mondovi; five children, Pamela Flatley of Green Bay, Mark (Wanda) Anderson of Racine, Jamie (Henry) Anderson of Dania Beach, FL, Kimberly (Mark) Nielsen of Union Grove and Rick Raynes of Racine; six grandchildren, Luke Nielsen, Pastor Matthew Nielsen, Nicholas Flatley, Janie (Jake) Pumper, Rachel (Max) Salassi and Trica (Peter) Pumper; seven great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth Accola; two nieces, Kimberly (Pete) Ellensen and Laurie (John) Halvorson; one nephew, Todd (Traci) Horn; other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Larry. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Canton Township, rural Mondovi, WI with Pastor Dan Pfaffe officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Mondovi and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will follow the services at Oak Park Cemetery in Mondovi. Talbot Family Funeral Home is serving the family.
