Mercita "Cita" Pichler

Mercita "Cita" Pichler, age 72, of Mondovi, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the American Lutheran Home, Mondovi.

Cita was born on January 21, 1954, in Durand, Wisconsin, to the late Adolph, Sr and Rose (Bauer) Pichler. She lived in Plum city, Wisconsin, where she worked at Plum City Hardware for 32 years. She married Gene Haglund, who preceded her in death.

Cita loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, going out for homemade pizza, canning, baking, cooking, and working in her flower beds and gardens. After retiring, she moved back to Mondovi, where she enjoyed the comfort of apartment living and being closer to the people and places she loved. She was blessed to have a special friend, Duane Hollister, who brought companionship and happiness to her later years, and they enjoyed sharing many special moments together.

Cita is survived by her sister, Rita (Mike) Hayden; her brother Adolph Jr. (Jane) Pichler; her sisters-in-law, Shirley, Barb, Kathy and Rosie; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great- nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Haglund; her brothers, Dennis, Robert, Adreian, Kenneth, and Arnold; her sisters, Dorothy, Marlene, and Mary; sister-in-law, Marge, and a niece and nephews.

Cita will be lovingly remembered for her warm heart, her love for family and friends, and the many wonderful memories she created throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation and Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel, beginning with a Visitation at 4:00 PM and followed by the Memorial Service at 7:00 PM. A private family inurnment service will occur at a later date.
