Marian Dora Engfer

Marian Dora Engfer, age 84, of Cochrane, WI passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 21, 2106 at Gunderson Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI after a brief illness. Marian was born in Cochrane on January 5, 1932 to George and Dora (Kochenderfer) Haeuser. She graduated from Cochrane High School. On September 8, 1951, Marian married Louis Engfer, Jr. at the Christ Lutheran Church in Cochrane. They made their home in rural Cochrane farming. Marian was involved in the historical society, loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marian is survived by her daughter, Julie Kuri of Cochrane; son, William (Rita) Engfer of DeForest; grandchildren, Lee (Lisa) Engfer, Grant Engfer, Megan (Zach) Simpson and Jessica (Brad) Thorseness; five great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Kochenderfer of Minneapolis; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis on July 2, 1986; son, Charles Engfer on March 21, 1987 and son-in-law, John Kuri. A funeral service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Cochrane on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastor Mark Wilde officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Buffalo City Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and then again on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
