Margaret Louise Torrez (Foder), 88, of Mondovi, WI, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025 at home. She was a devoted mother to 5 children: Dolly Pearse (Pete) of WI, Sharon Goodman (Tom) of WI, Robert Torrez of WI, Carol Swiercz (Mike) of AR and David Torrez (Megan) of WI. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Born on August 29, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to Margaret and Louis Foder. Margaret was raised with a strong sense of family, compassion and hard work. Margaret met Ernest Torrez and they married in 1954, building a life together filled with breeding dogs and horses, leather crafting, camping and raising their family. Margaret was known for her selflessness, professionally as a dedicated CNA and personally as a friend, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, several outdoor activities, reading and beating everyone at card/board games.
She was preceded in death by both parents Margaret and Louis Foder, her brother Emory Charles Foder, her husband Ernest Torrez, her daughter Dolly Pearse, and Grandsons Gary Greve and Shane Torrez. She is survived by Dolly (Pete) Pearse’s children Curtis (Nicki) Mummer and 2 children, Shaun (Katelynn) Mummer and Brittanie Pearse and her 5 children; Sharon (Tom) Goodman and their children Darryl (Belinda) Goodman and 3 children and Bill (Angelica) Goodman and 4 children; Robert Torrez and his children Kristin(Patrick) Orr and 3 children and Kallie(Conner) Howells; Carol (Mike) Swiercz and their children Chris (Valerie) Swiercz and their 4 children and Amanda Swiercz with her 2 children; David (Megan) Torrez and their children Payton Torrez and Ray Torrez. She was being blessed with 2 more great great grandchildren in 2025 as well.
Visitation and Memorial service will be held at Talbot Funeral Home in Mondovi, WI on July 19, 2025 at 10:00 am until Noon. A Memorial service will begin at Noon.
The family would like to extend and invitation to family and friends to join them for fellowship and lunch at the Marten Center, 130 S. Franklin St, Mondovi, following the service.
