Lana Jean Odegard

Lana Jean Odegard, age 77 of Mondovi, WI passed away on June 26, 2024, in Chetek, WI. Lana was born on August 15, 1946, in Durand, WI to James and Edna (Hill) Hurlburt. She married the love of her life, Alvin “Sandy” Odegard on September 10, 1966 at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi, WI. To this union, they were blessed with three children. Lana was a cherished member of the community and a longtime member of Valley of the Shepard Lutheran Church. Lana spent a fulfilling career at Sanna Dairies Con-Agra Foods, dedicating 35 years before her retirement. Known for her spirited wit, Lana found joy in crocheting and reading, hobbies that brought great pleasure and relaxation to her life. Lana is survived by her children, Lauri (John) Odegard, Jerry Odegard, and Dirk Odegard; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bobby) Plucar, Nathanial (Miranda) Krentz, Brooke Odegard, and Claire (Nick) Odegard; great-grandchildren, Kia, Ericka, Austin, and Weylin; brothers, Glen Hurlburt and Horace (Carol) Hurlburt; sister-in-law, Joan Hurlburt; and in-laws, Margie Rice, Lenny (Sadie) Odegard, Jerry (Mary) Odegard, Jeannie Bauer, and John Odegard. Lana was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin Odegard; her parents, Edna and James Hurlburt; sister, Lola Hurlburt; brothers, Claire (Florence) Hurlburt, Virus (Mary Lou) Hurlburt, Orville Hurlburt, Perry (Fran) Hurlburt; and in-laws, Agnes and Sanford Odegard, Cecil Odegard, Billy Odegard, Audrey Passe, Patti (Gary) Occonell, and special friend, Carmen Odegard. Lana's life was marked by her love for her family, her commitment to her faith, and her passion for her hobbies. Her legacy of warmth, humor, and kindness will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. A memorial gathering will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi on Friday July 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. A committal service will follow at Thompson Valley Cemetery in Mondovi, WI.
