Kathleen A. Thomas

Kathleen A. Thomas, age 75 of Alma, WI formerly of Slinger, WI passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was born in Milwaukee on December 23, 1941 one of two daughters born to the late Edgar and Esther (Kegel) Platz. Kathy attended Milwaukee Lutheran High School, graduating with the class of 1959. She was united in marriage to Wayne Thomas, to this union fraternal twins were born, Danielle and Donald. They later divorced. Kathy was employed as the manager of Schaefer’s BP along with the deli manager at the Piggly Wiggly both located in Slinger. Following her retirement in 2013, Kathy relocated to Alma, WI to be near to her grandchildren. During her time in Alma, Kathy found great joy in volunteering her time at the Alma Area Schools helping read with the 1st and 2nd graders. Many that knew Kathy would rave about her cooking and baking abilities especially her peanut butter balls and spaghetti & meatballs. She will be always remembered as a supportive friend a caring volunteer, but mostly as a mom, sister and wonderful, loving grandma. Kathy will be dearly missed but always in the hearts of her twins, Danielle (Bob) Schalinske of Alma and Don Thomas of West Bend, WI; precious grandchildren, Alexandra, Karysa and Kali; sister, Marianne (Fred) Murphy of Phelps, WI; also by other relatives and dear friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel. A prayer service will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
