June Rose Wagner

June Rose Wagner, age 87 of Lake City, MN, formerly of Fountain City and Alma, WI died Wednesday September 18, 2013 at Mayo Health Lake City Care Center of congestive heart failure. She was born June 22, 1926 in Nelson, WI to Walter and Josephine (Markey) Castleberg. June attended and graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1944. She married Cleon A. Peters on June 14, 1947 in Wabasha, MN. To this union, two sons; Jerry and Jon were born. Cleon and June later divorced in 1979. June married W. Charles Wagner on May 9, 1980 in Alma, WI. They resided in Fountain City, WI. Charles passed away on May 14, 1999. A year after Charles’ passing, June moved to Alma, WI until 2010 when she moved to Lake City, MN to reside with her son and daughter in law. June was a member of the Pepin-Durand Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, and was an avid landscape painter. June will be sadly missed by her son Jon (Lucinda) Peters, and her grandchildren Michael (Christine) Peters, Jon (Jenni) Peters, Jessica (Brian) McQuade, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband Cleon Peters, her husband W. Charles Wagner, and her son Jerry Peters. A private family committal service will be held at a later date at the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, WI. Scenic Rivers Cremation Center/Talbot Family Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
