Joyce Martha Davis

Joyce Martha (Mattie) Davis, age 92, went home to the Lord on Friday, June 12, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in the Town of Chicog, WI on February 28, 1934 to Frank Sr and Mildred Mattie. She was joined in marriage to Ronald (Rube) Davis on September 21, 1957 and moved to Alma, WI where they farmed, worked and raised their two daughters, Carrie and Karen.

Joyce was very active in the community especially St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she truly enjoyed spending her time and talents with her church family. She cooked at the Alma Hotel for many years and was well known for her delicious food, especially the pies and her famous spaghetti sauce! Joyce always kept busy bowling, golfing, gardening, taking trips with her friends to the casino and cheering on her Badgers, Brewers, Bucks and Packers. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was so very proud of her grandsons.

Her spirit of generosity and kindness was her true trademark as she always thought of others before herself. She touched so many people in the long course of her life with that kindness, and she will be so dearly missed.

Joyce is survived by her daughters Carrie Magnuson of Clayton, WI and Karen (Scott) Bergman of Brooklyn Park, MN, her sisters, Nancy Lee and Barbara DuVall of Oregon, her grandsons, Jordan Magnuson, Tyler Magnuson, Nicholas Bergman, Jacob Bergman and Nathan Bergman and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Ronald (Rube) Davis; sisters Beverly Dennis and Phyllis Kamin, and brother Frank Mattie Jr; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Geraldine Hageness, Richard and Judy Davis, Richard and Ruth Ann Davis, Joanne Mattie, Mary Mattie, Gene DuVall, Tommy Lee, Richard Dennis; and many other cherished friends and family.
