Joseph D. Salwey, age 62, of Waumandee, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday afternoon, June 29, 2021 while working on his family farm.
He was born on May 24, 1959 in Arcadia to George and Louise (Piel) Salwey.
Joe attended grade school at St. Boniface Catholic School in Waumandee and then Arcadia High School where he participated in FFA and football, graduating with the class of 1977.
On October 6, 1984, Joe was united in marriage to Marcy Jons in Bonesteel, SD. To this loving union, three sons were born.
Following his graduation from Arcadia High School, Joe began working on the Salwey farm. It was quite evident from the start that Joe loved his farm, his cows, the land, his Waumandee friends and community, but most of all, his wife that stood by his side always supporting him through it all. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending concerts with his sons, farm shows and tractor pulls with friends
He was a lifelong Parishioner of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Joe lived his life to the fullest…just the way he wanted to. He would be the first to lend his hand to those in need of help. He will be truly missed by all those blessed to know him.
Joe is survived and forever remembered by his beloved wife of almost 37 years, Marcy; his three sons, Scott Salwey of Naperville, IL, Adam (Lu Han) Salwey of St. Louis Park, MN and Andrew Salwey of Minneapolis, MN; also by his parents, George F. and Louise Salwey; two brothers, Tom (Cindy) Salwey and George A.
