John F. Oesau

John Oesau, 81 of Alma, Wi passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023. He was the husband of Mary Oesau for 50 years, who preceded his death.

Born in Colorado, he was the son of Fredrick and Elise Oesau.  John owned and operated successful construction companies with his Son throughout his lifetime in California and moved to Alma, WI upon his retirement in 1995.  John loved hunting and fishing with family and friends, NASCAR, and traveling with his wife.  We will all have fond memories of his love of Jimmy Dean’s, Westerns, and his larger than life personality.

John is survived by his two children Wendy (Neil) Reinhardt of Nelson, WI, Ted (Kirsten) of Conway, AR, grandchildren Fallon Oesau, Whitney Oesau (Anthony), Ashley Reinhardt (Austin), Alex Reinhardt (Olivia), Brodie Oesau, five Great Grandchildren, his best friend of 69 years LouAnn, and many other dear friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Fredrick and Elsie Oesau, sisters Phyllis, Rosie, Annabelle, Step-Son Larry Gene, and several nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to express our appreciation to all of the doctors, nurses, and caretakers who cared for John over the last year of his life. We are grateful for the love, care, and compassion you showed our Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather.

A graveside service will be held in California at a later date. As John has always said “Give ‘Em Hell”.
