John Christopherson

John C. Christopherson, age 71, known by many as “Johnny”, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Hillview Assisted Living of Mondovi.

 He was the third of four children born to Raymond and Shirley (Whitworth) Christopherson. 

 John was proud to have grown up in a rural setting, at times milking close to 100 cows between two dairy farms. John attended the Canton Grade School and graduated from Mondovi High School.  Following high school, John attended CVTC in Eau Claire, studying small engine repair.  His talents as a small engine mechanic earned him a longtime and fulfilling career at Mondovi Implement which later became MDMA, retiring in 1999.

 On May 20, 1972, John was united in marriage to Mary Rosenthal at Central Lutheran Church.  To this union, two children were born.  They later divorced. He was a man that took being a dad seriously and would consistently strive to provide his children with a loving home and a safe environment. 

 John was a member of the River City Street Rods and was proud to have built, with his hands and expertise, his own street rod. John's mechanical mind saw him able to fix just about anything…if it didn’t look like it could be fixed, most likely, John could. 

 John will be sadly missed by his children, Jenny (Mike) Hayden and Ross (Melissa) Christopherson; grandchildren, Cole and Riley Pratt, Noah, Jonah, Hayden and Braeya Christoperson; former son in law, Chris (Sharon) Pratt; siblings, Kathy (Stephen) Aldredge, Sandy (Grant) Parker and Randy (Carol) Christopherson; uncle, Allen Christopherson; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew,  Randy Parker.

 Family would like to thank the staff at Hillview Assisted Living of Mondovi and St. Croix Hospice for the excellent care provided to John. 

 A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel, with Chaplain Gary Preston officiating.  A memorial gathering for both family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 26 from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service.
