Jerome Francis Lisowski, age 77 of Alma who was also known by many as "Sonny", "Blackie" or "PeeWee", passed away on February 21, 2024 at Gundersen-St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Wabasha.
Jerome was born on July 8, 1946 and was the son of the late Peter and Olga (Konsella) Lisowski.
Jerome attended several rural elementary schools before attending Alma Area Schools, graduating from Alma High School.
On November 18, 1964, Jerome was united in marriage to Nancy Nerby. To this marriage, three children were born. They later divorced.
Jerome later married Karen Schieche at Montana United Methodist Church on June 25, 1984.
Jerome owned and operated the former DX service station in Alma and was known for his innate ability to fix automobiles. It was his mechanical abilities that saw him begin a 15 year career at Dairyland Power in Alma in the maintenance department. Later, Jerome owned and operated the ABC (Alma’s Best Carwash).
Jerome was a man that enjoyed his time in the outdoors, hunting, fishing or being on his tractor and taking care of his farm that meant the world to him.
Jerome was a man that could start up a conversation with a stranger and end up with a friend. His heart was filled with selflessness and giving. Whether it was a vehicle or motorcycle stalled on the road or just someone in need, he would fix it or repair it without expectation, even while enduring his own physical injuries and pains.
Jerome is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Tammy (Paul) Marcks and Ann (Scott) Risch; grandchildren, Stephanie Halling, Rebecca Ennis, Caitlyn Halling, Sophia (Tim) Beasley, Tina Winters, Tyler Winters, Amber (Ryan) Reidt and Jonathan Winters; 17 great grandchildren; sisters in law, Lorna Lisowski, Sandra Lisowski and Sharon (Donald) Fimian; brothers in law, Kenneth, Randy and Stanley Schieche; also by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Besides his parents, Jerome was preceded in death by his infant son, Jerry Ray; siblings, Robert (Vivian) Lisowski, Jacob (Muriel) Lisowski, John Lisowski, Raymond Lisowski and Ann (Roman) Konkel.
A visitation will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Alma on Tuesday February 27 at 3:00PM until the time of service at 6:00PM. Burial will be a Alma Cemetery.
