Jeanne E. Hofer, born on September 28, 1927, in Winona, Minnesota, passed away at the age of 97 on July 31, 2025. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a devoted member of her community.
Jeanne was raised with a strong foundation in education, having attended Herold School through 8th grade and graduated from Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Throughout her life, she embraced her roles with grace and unwavering dedication. As a homemaker, she passionately sought to help others. Whether she was preparing delightful baked goods or sewing quilts for those in need, her kindness knew no bounds. Jeanne’s love for nature was evident in her and her late husband Lyle’s shared passion for farming, which allowed her to connect with the outdoors in a way that brought her immense joy.
A faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church in Cochrane, Wisconsin, Jeanne exemplified a selfless spirit. She consistently thought of others before herself, demonstrating a profound love for her family, which was the cornerstone of her life.
Jeanne is survived by her loving children: Brende (Dennis Steadman) Hofer, Suzanne (David) Bardouche, Jeff (Jane) Hofer, Paul Hofer, Greg Hofer, and Eric Hofer. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Amanda (Peter) Hofer, Melissa (Tim Jeide) Hofer, Emily Hofer, Michael Hofer, and Lance (Carly) Hofer, along with her great-grandchildren: Sophia Hofer, Cashten Hofer, and Piper Hofer-Jeide.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lyle Hofer, who passed away on December 27, 2018.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Alma, Wisconsin, on August 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at the same location starting at 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Buriel will follow the service at the Buffalo City Cemetery, Buffalo City, WI.
Jeanne E. Hofer will be dearly missed, but her spirit, generosity, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
