Janet Moyer

Janet Moyer, age 59, of Mondovi, passed away on Saturday, November 5 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire following a longtime battle with kidney disease with her loving and devoted family at her side. She was born on January 1, 1952 a daughter of the late James and Marjorie (Gablonsky) Reese. She attended school in Milwaukee. In 1973, Janet moved to Mondovi where she met the love of her life and then on July 13, 1974 Janet faithfully exchanged vows with Darrell Moyer at Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi. To this union three children were born and later one adopted daughter. Janet was mostly a homemaker, but she did work seasonally at Huntsinger Farms and the Faribault Foods in Mondovi. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Canton where she was an active member of the ladies aid. Janet also was devoted and volunteered her time with the Buffalo County 4-H and the Mondovi Food Pantry. Janet enjoyed sci-fi T.V., her house plants, vegetable gardening and canning the harvest of the year, playing cards and at the Whitetail in Urne and reading sci-fi books. She also enjoyed baking and cooking where she would take her baked goods to the Buffalo County Fair for her 4-H group. Her gracious and giving heart would give her baked goods to the mailman, milkman and whoever she thought needed a treat. Janet’s greatest love was for her entire family, especially her precious grandchildren and remembered every one of their birthdays and teaching her family to speak german. Janet will be forever missed by her husband of the past 37 years, Darrell of Mondovi; her loving children, Jesse (Sarah) Reese of New Richmond , Stephanie (Chris) Brunner of Mondovi, Jody (fiancée, Carrie) Moyer of Mondovi and Gina (fiancé Dan) Moyer of Mondovi: eleven grandchildren; siblings, Kathy (Danny) Hanson of Alma, Miles Reese of Florida, Milo (Annette) Reese of Texas, Thomas (Tina) Thompson, John Reese, Jack Reese, Julie Reese, Joan (David) Lozano, Jenny (Jimmy) Fuchs, Jay Reese, Jean (Casey) Melsheimer all of Milwaukee; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she tragically lost her sister and nephew as a result of a house fire. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 11 at 11:00 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel with Pastor Daniel Pfaffe officiating. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, November 10 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
