Jack Randall Cook

Jack Randall Cook age 86 passed away peacefully on Friday June 5,2026 with his son Scott by his side at The Neighbors Memory Care in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Jack was born in Mondovi, Wi. To Jim and Margaret (Rafferty)Cook on June 12, 1939. He was raised on the family homesteaded Cook farm in Waste Valley, in Buffalo County. He loved the outdoors and helped in the barn and out in the fields with his father learning all there was to know about running a farm. Being fit and strong, he loved football, also playing it for The Mondovi High School Buffalos, graduating with the class of 1957. He also loved riding horses, and along with his brother Bob were active in the Mondovi Trail Dusters growing up. After high School, Jack and brother Bob joined the National Guard, and after basic training, they spent a year together at Ft Lewis, Washington with Jack working as a medic. They had a lifetime of great brotherly love and kept in close contact always. After Jack returned to Wisconsin, he eventually took over the home farm, embracing new farming techniques to increase production and herd health. He was proud of his top producing herd of Holsteins in Buffalo County. Jack made many friends as a dairy farmer and could “talk your ear off” about anything related to dairy farming and herd health. He also loved hunting and was well known for his hunting trips all over the U.S. and all his trophy mounts. He was happy to display and show anyone who was interested. He could tell you all about each mount and where he was and how it all went down, making you feel you were there right with him at the time. After he left farming in his later years, he moved to the Philippines to live a simple and uncomplicated life, searching for gold that had been buried years before. Adding a little excitement to his quiet life there. Jack is survived by his son Scott (Heather)Cook, Mondovi, WI., Daughter Jackie (Jim) Cleaven, Sycamore, IL., Son Lloyd (Gloria)Cook, Anchorage, AK. Daughters, Robin (Mike)Flint, Viroqua, WI., and Kim (Ben) Crain, Colorado. Grandchildren and great grandchildren, and special nephew, Chad (Carrie) Cook, Menomonie WI., his only sister, Mary Alyce Brion, Mondovi, WI, many nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Maxine Cook, Menomonie, WI. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lori Cook, brother Bob Cook, and brother-in-law Dennis Brion.
