Gregory R. Lorenz

Gregory Richard Lorenz, age 75, of Alma, WI was born on April 25, 1950 and passed away quietly on February 13, 2026 after having struggled from the effects of cancer at Gundersen Health System, LaCrosse.

Gregory was an avid sportsman enjoying most sports and Minnesota being the home of his primary teams. Gregory enjoyed both deer hunting and golf; however, riding motorcycle provided him with a symbol of freedom. Conversations about the Vikings and Twins were that of great enjoyment. Listening to KFAN on the radio and watching the failures of the Packers in front of the Vikings being that of a goal which amplified his dedication to the Vikings. His memories of motorcycling across the country, deer hunting and that of his thirty plus years at the Buffalo County Highway Department were as dear to him as the friends of whom were the topics.

He is survived by his two sons Travis (Laura) Lorenz and Tom (Christine) Lorenz; Grandchildren, Evelyn, Faith, Thomas Jr, Tristan, Avery, Salem and Strider; along with two nephews, Jessie Lorenz and Ian Lorenz.

He is preceded by his parents Herman Lorenz of Jamestown, ND. and Mildred (Rotering) Lorenz of Waumandee, WI; Sister, Sherry Lorenz, and Brother, James Lorenz.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Alma American Legion Post 224. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4:00 PM until the hour of the service at the Legion. Luncheon and social to follow. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
