Gerald "Gerry" Wojchik

Gerald “Gerry” R. Wojchik, 82, of Waumandee, WI. passed away on Sunday, July 19th at Winona Health in Winona, MN. 

Gerry was born on Aug. 31, 1943 in Arcadia, WI. to Wm (Butch) Wojchik and Amelia (Suchla) Wojchik. He was the oldest of nine siblings. He attended elementary school at St. Boniface in Waumandee, WI. and graduated from C-FC High School in 1962. After graduation he enlisted in the Winona National Guard. 

In 1964 he purchased the Wealthy and Brandt dairy farm in Wojchik Valley. Later that year he married Peggy Haeuser of Fountain City and they had two sons, Mark and Michael.

Gerry was active in his community. He was a director of Garden Valley Coop., a superviser on the Waumandee Town Board and a member of the local fire department. He was also a member of the community club and taught hunter safety for 15 years. along with being a past director of the Waumandee State Bank.

Gerry loved playing softball, playing many years with Waumandee and Fountain City teams, and later years played old timers softball. Gerry was an avid deer hunter. He got his last buck with a bow in a ground blind at 75 years old.

Gerry was a busy farmer but took time to help his wife with her Arabian horse business.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ron; sisters, Lois Smith, Sue Lettner, Judy Slaby; brother-in-law, George Lettner; nephew, Joe Wojchik; niece, Michelle Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, his sons Mark (Wendy) of Silver Bay, MN. Michael (Jason) of Cochrane, WI. grandchildren; Ben (Katelyn), Chris (Angie), Drew (Whitney) and Megan (AJ) Colletti. Also 7 great grand children. Brothers; Roger, Ken (Pat), Bill (Renata) Sister; Jane (Dennis) Shepherd; Brothers-in-law, Pete Smith, and Jim Slaby. and sister in law, Mary Wojchik.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma. Burial will be private and held at a later date.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23 from 4:00 PM until the hour of the service, at the funeral home.
