Gary Allen Parker, 84, of New Richmond, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday afternoon, June 24, 2026, with his wife, Janice, and son, Jeremy, by his side.
Gary was born on August 29, 1941, to Kenneth and Irene (Winsand) Parker. He graduated from Mondovi High School with the Class of 1959.
Gary proudly served his country as a Military Police Officer in the United States Army while stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
While stationed at Fort Campbell, Gary met Janice Young, and they were united in marriage on June 19, 1965. After leaving the Army in August 1965, the couple returned to Mondovi, Wisconsin, where they later welcomed their son, Jeremy, in 1975.
Gary was a respected entrepreneur whose business career spanned more than four decades in the Eau Claire and Mondovi communities. He began his career working alongside his father at Parker Limestone Works until the company was sold in 1983.
Gary then enjoyed a successful career as a real estate broker in Eau Claire, where he owned Realty World, 1st Security Group until 1992. He then relocated the business to Mondovi, where he renamed it 1st Security Real Estate.
In 1992, Gary and Janice opened Young Ideas Furniture Store in Mondovi. In 2003, Gary and his son, Jeremy, founded Midwest Fiber Solutions in New Richmond, Wisconsin, where Gary served as the company's Chief Executive Officer until 2015. Gary officially retired from real estate in 2012, and he and Janice then made their home in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams, faithfully following the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. He also served on the Mondovi City Council from 1976 to 1984, was President and a Board Member of the Mondovi Conservation Club, and was a proud member of American Legion Post 154.
Gary will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 61 years, Janice of New Richmond, Wisconsin; his son, Jeremy Parker of Brentwood, Tennessee; his granddaughter, Lauren Parker of Nashville, Tennessee; and his sister, Luanne Reckin of Menomonie, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Irene Parker, and his sister, Linda.
Visitation will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Mondovi on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
