Elizabeth “Liz” (Lieberenz) Schollmeier passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Pine View Care Center, Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
She was born June 5, 1936 in Hudson, Wisconsin to Roy and Theresa “Jenny” Lieberenz. Liz graduated in 1954 from Alma High School. After graduation, she was a receptionist for Max O. Bachhuber at the Alma Clinic and later Mayo Clinic which is now Gundersen Clinic-Alma. She also worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in the maternity ward.
Liz was married to Clarence (Cutz) on July 19, 1955 in a double wedding with her sister Darline and brother-in-law Darrold Abts at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma. Elizabeth and Clarence had three children, Bruce, Joel and Jennifer. Bruce died in infancy on May 4, 1956.
Liz enjoyed being with people of all ages. She especially enjoyed infants and the elderly she loved doing crafts along with Cutz and spending time with her children and four grandchildren.
Liz’s life will be mourned by her children Joel Schollmeier and Jennifer (Kevin) Lisowski; her grandchildren, Tony (Anne Wespetal) Schollmeier, Kayla (Ryan) Greske, Jessica (Jamie) La Brec, and Shelly (Jake) Sales; and great grandchildren Connor Greske, Owen Greske, Gibson La Brec, Salem La Brec, and Siren La Brec.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel. A memorial gathering will be held from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service Wednesday, at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Alma Memorial Cemetery. The celebration of Liz’s life will continue at the Dam View Bar, Alma, WI.
