Elaine V. Rohrer, age 90, of Cochrane, WI passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2 019 at Sugar Loaf Assisted Living in Winona.
She was born on July 1, 1928 in Pepin, WI a daughter of John and Edna (Swanson) Jahnke.
Elaine attended Pepin Schools, graduating in 1946 from Pepin High School. She then attended Eau Claire State Teachers College and later earned her Bachelor’s degree at Winona State University.
On February 11, 1950, Elaine was united in marriage to John Rohrer at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Alma, WI. To this union, 5 children were born. John preceded Elaine in death on April 29, 2005.
Elaine taught school for 34 years at C-FC Elementary School. She
so enjoyed teaching the little ones and often reminisced of her teaching days. Elaine took an early retirement in order to care for her loving son, Randy as he dealt with M.S.
Elaine and her husband, John enjoyed their golfing days, having golfed 61 golf courses throughout Wisconsin. Elaine had many fond memories of her bowling days with the ladies of her team.
Elaine is survived by her children, Lonnie (Jul) Rohrer of Cochrane, Mary (Jeff) Sluzewski of Belleville, WI and Melanie (Jerry Riggs) Jackmovich of South Bend, IN; daughter in law, Trina Rohrer of Spring Hill, FL; grandchildren, Emily (John) Lenz, Benjamin (Heidi) Sluzewski, Mitchell Sluzewski and Nicholas Jackmovich; 2 great grandchildren, Ada and Kelvin and one on the way; brother, Ron Jahnke of Pepin; sister Judy (Ed) Chupp of Leesburg, FL; also by nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, John, two sons, Randy Rohrer, Mark Rohrer; sisters, Marion “Sis”, Eleanor and Jeanette along with one brother, Walter.
A funeral service will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Alma on Wed., April 17, 2019 at 10:30 am. Burial to immediately follow at Buffalo City Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Alma Chapel on Tues., April 16, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 pm and then again at church one hour prior to the service.
