Dorothy Georgia Hulberg, 91 of Strum died Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Cambridge Senior Living in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Dorothy was born on August 4, 1934, to the late Roy and Palma (Pederson) Back. Dorothy married David Hulberg on January 29, 1961, at the Eleva Lutheran Church. David preceded Dorothy in death on January 12, 2009.
Dorothy was a very active mother, business partner and community member. She was never idle. She and David owned and operated the Red Owl grocery store in Strum for thirty-two years. In addition to helping run the store, Dorothy was a dedicated member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Strum. She was a member of the Ladies Aide and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Dorothy also loved to travel, sew, and spend time assisting in many capacities on the family farm.
Family and pets were of utmost importance to Dorothy. She often watched her grandsons and always had a warm spot in her heart for her many ‘grand dogs’.
Dorothy is survived by her children Allen (Missy) Hulberg, Sue Hulberg, and Jenny (Rod) Hulberg-Franson; her grandchildren, Jake (Andrea) Hulberg, Isaac Hulberg, Benjamin Hulberg, Jon (Eva) Hulberg, Brandon (Julie) Olson, Sammi (Jim) Tilseth, Matthew Franson, Hannah Franson; five great grandchildren, Abbie, Brady, Jack, Romi and Ryder; her brother Roy (Terri) Back, and her sister Diane (Denny) Falkum.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David and her brothers, Fricky, Dux, Bob and Butch.
In honor of Dorothy’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
