Donald Gruber

Donald J. “Donny” Gruber, age 63 of Mondovi passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. He was born on May 1, 1956 in Mondovi, the son of Carol (Feeney) and Eugene Gruber. Donny graduated from Mondovi High school in 1974. He dedicated his life to working on the family farm in the township of Albany. He enjoyed woodworking and could fix or build anything you needed. In 2002, he reconnected with Sandy Serum and gained a second family in her children and grandchildren. They enjoyed finding new adventures together, traveling the back roads of Western Wisconsin and attempting to find all the rustic roads. He will be sadly missed by his partner of 17 years, Sandra Serum; children: Danielle and Justin Kummer, their children Chris Schofield and Maycee Kummer, and Andrew and Meredith Risler; his parents: Carol and Eugene Gruber; siblings: Joann Gruber, Mary Jo and Matt Lamb, their children Jeremy and David, Jimmy Gruber, and Scott Gruber; mother in law: Bernice Serum; along with other family and friends. His kind spirit and gentle heart will be forever missed. A Celebration of Donny’s life will be held at a later date when we once again can all come together to commemorate a life well lived.
