Don Lee Miller, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Alma, Wisconsin on October 7, 2025 at the age of 94. Don was born March 9, 1931, in Ronan, Montana to Elwin P. Miller and Velma (Coulter) Miller.
In December 1931, his family moved to Alma, Wisconsin where they farmed. At the age of 5, they moved back to Charlo, Montana. He attended and graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1949. He was proud to be a member of the Bulldogs 1948 State Football Championship Team. In June 1950, they immigrated to Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada where he lived until February of 1988. During that time, he farmed in the Readymade area on the family farm with his brother. Don also worked different jobs during the winter months to support his family. He moved to Alma, Wisconsin in February 1988 where he drove school bus for the Alma School District, worked for Buffalo County ASCS Office, and later started his crop insurance adjuster career. In 1988, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Becker. They worked together crop adjusting until retirement. They enjoyed fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, traveling to Arizona for the winter months and to Montana and Canada to visit with family. Don enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events which included hockey, rugby, swimming, baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, track and field. He was a very proud grandpa.
He is survived by Bonnie, his loving wife of 37 years; his children Laurie (Toni) Winder, Brian (Marilyn), Ron (Heather), bonus son Jason (Deanne) Becker; his cherished grandchildren Remi, Braydon (Erin), Hailey (Rob), Trevor (Jayden), Rhys, Adam, Drew, Beth; precious great grandsons Aldous and Miles; bonus grandchildren Zachary, Courtney, Austin and Logan who filled his life with joy for the past 26 years. He is further survived by his brother Elwin (Sonny) and sisters Jean Larson, Betty Horlacher, and Jo Ann Johnson; in-laws Gerald (Mary) Becker, Donald (Rosemary) Becker, Bernie Becker, Richard (Kim) Becker; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friend Ann Hesch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Joyce Mattix and Faye Layman Strange; sister-in-law Carol Miller; brothers-in law G.R. (Bud) Larson, Lowell Horlacher, and Charles Johnson; father and mother-in-law Raymond and Lorena (Bauer) Becker; sister-in-law Shirley (Becker) Tuxen; his former wife and mother of his children Mary Kay Miller.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public services.
