Dawn Deloris Bergstrom

Dawn Deloris Bergstrom, 86, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi, WI.

Dawn was born on June 22, 1939, to Pearl “Millie” (Lundgren) and Everett Bergstrom. She had fond memories of growing up on her parents’ farm in Luck, WI, with many extended family members nearby. Dawn attended Oak Hill School and Luck High School. The Atlas United Methodist Church, Dawn’s childhood church, remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Dawn attended Wisconsin State College at River Falls, and graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She began her career as a high school English teacher the following school year in Wisconsin Dells. Dawn later moved to Eau Claire and taught for several years in Durand, where she made many friends, some of whom were lifelong. One of her fondest memories from her teaching days was guiding her students through the lessons of the book To Kill a Mockingbird.

In the 1970s, Dawn became involved in the Midwest Institute of Scandinavian Culture, which was started by Lawrence Wahlstrom. The institute had opened a store, Scandinavian Imports, in downtown Eau Claire. Dawn eventually became the store manager before purchasing the business in 1997 and operating it until her retirement in 2014. She greatly cherished the memories of her store and the lasting friendships she developed with her customers.

Dawn will be dearly missed by a host of special friends and relatives. A Celebration of Life for Dawn will be held on Saturday, April 25, at the Talbot Funeral Home in Mondovi. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., followed by an informal service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private at a later date.
