Darleen M. “Tiny” Loretz, age 83, of Buffalo City, WI died on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Lake Winona Manor.
She was born on July 7, 1934 to the late Wilmer and Lillian Korb in the Town of Alma, Buffalo County, WI. She attended Herold School and at the age of 12, the family moved to Cochrane where she finished grade school and high school. Following graduation, she was employed at Trane Co. in La Crosse until getting married to Roger Loretz in Ettrick on July 24, 1954 and then moved to Cochrane. Tiny worked for over 30 years at La Crosse Milling Co. and after retirement, worked in the laundry department at Community Memorial Hospital/Winona Health for almost 10 years along with volunteer work. Tiny dearly loved her husband, children, grandchildren and her great granddaughter, Breyelle. She loved baking, canning, sewing, knitting, quilting and fishing at their cabin in Cameron. Tiny was an avid sports enthusiast and was a Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan.
Tiny is survived by her husband of the past 63 years, Roger of Buffalo City; children, Rhonda Squires of Cochrane, Jackolyn (Dave) Rank of Bloomington, MN and Mary (Kevin) Engler of Buffalo City; grandchildren, Shawn (Sarah) Squires, Shara (George) Fuller, Chelsey (LaVon) Young and Chandler (Holly White) Engler; great granddaughter, Breyelle Young; brother and sister in law, Duane and Jean Loretz along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Besides her parents, Tiny was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Stanley (Irene) Korb, Dorothy Luedtke, Oliver (Virginia) Korb, Marjorie (Kenneth) Larson, Leslie (Peg) Korb, Marabelle (Jim) Mowery, niece Tammy Loretz; nephew, Brad Loretz;
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Talbot Family funeral home of Alma. A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Donations to a charity of choice be made in the loving memory of Tiny Loretz.
