Daniel A. Mueller

Daniel A. “Dan” Mueller, age 78 of Nelson, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, January 21, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Wabasha, MN. He was born on May 15, 1940 in Eau Claire, the son of Alfred and Hazel (McDonough) Mueller. Dan grew up on the family farm until his dad passed away and the family moved into town. He then began working for Buffalo County Highway Department. Dan married Suzanne L. Moy on July 22, 1961 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pepin and to this union two children were born, Jeffrey and Jodi. Dan was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Nelson Rod and Gun Club and was proud to be a union president. He was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dan will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Suzanne; son, Jeffrey (Wendy) of Nelson; daughter, Jodi of Nelson; 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Beth Blee of Nelson, Fairy (John) Meisch of Waconia, MN and Jane (Bill) Chard of Minnetonka, MN; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and many of his faithful doggy companions. A memorial gathering will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Alma Chapel in Friday, January 25, 2019 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to your local Rod and Gun Club or take your kid fishing to pass on the value of conserving the land.
