Dale Marvin Byerly, age 94 of Mondovi, passed away peacefully at American Lutheran Homes, Mondovi on Friday, February 27, 2026. Dale was born to Kendly and Elsie (Foreman) Byerly on August 17, 1931. He was raised on a family farm in Iowa. After graduating from high school, Dale honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1951 through 1954 as a radar maintenance technician and supervisor. He then attended Iowa State College at Ames, Iowa in 1955 and graduated in 1958 with a degree in Botany. Dale then taught high school science in Iowa, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin. He married Doris Jean Sever on April 26, 1958, in Nora Springs, Iowa. After marriage, the couple put down roots in Wisconsin. He farmed and had numerous other interests dating from early youth including reading, gardening, ham radio electronics, shooting and reloading ammunition, photography and rock collecting. He also had a keen interest in natural history. The accumulation of all these interests led to his real passion - “Learning”. In Dale’s later years, he took great pride in his impeccable garden. He gave away his extra produce with a giving heart. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; brother and sisters-in-law, Gerald (Marjorie) Byerly and Wayne (Betty) Byerly; and his sister and brother-in-law, Arlene (Howard) Heinen. Dale is survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A private gathering and service was held on March 8, 2026.
