Beverly Ann Schneider

Our dear Beverly Ann Schneider, age 87 of Alma, WI passed away on May 4, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Wabasha, MN.   She was born on November 19, 1937, to Arthur E. and Helen J. (Orne) Nelson in Minneapolis, MN. Her family moved to Wisconsin when she was 7 and she attended a one-room school through 8th grade then to Pepin High School, graduating in 1955.

She had various jobs after high school until she met and married the man of her dreams, Vaughn F. Schneider in Maiden Rock, WI. To this union, they were blessed with two children: Mitchell and Michael. In 1961, they moved to Alma and then to Stoddard, WI where Vaughn worked for Dairyland Power and Bev worked for USDA. In 1971, they bought a hobby farm on Chaseburg Ridge and had a very happy life until the tragic death of her husband Vaughn in 1979. Bev sold the farm soon after and moved back to Alma and worked at the Buffalo County office of the USDA. She retired after 32 years of service. Bev never “really” retired. She soon kept herself busy with various jobs throughout the years, with her last job for 14 years at the Talbot Funeral Home office.

Bev will be forever in the hearts of grandchildren: Tony (Amber) Schneider, Lynea Schneider, Savannah (Tyler) Sherry, Austin, Morgan, and Logan Schneider; great-grandchildren: Lyle, Braelyn, Makayla, and Karter; daughter-in-law Ann Schneider-Duncan; nieces Judy (Harry) Argetsinger, Sandi (Larry) Golyer, and Dawn Boroff and nephew Jim (Colleen) Rorvick. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vaughn, her sons Michael and Mitchell, her sister Lorraine Rorvick, her brother Gerald Nelson, sister-in-law Dixie Brown, and special friend Fred Glander. And in Bev’s words… (she wrote her obituary) “I had some fantastic friends, and I know you all know who you are! I could call on any of them to help me or just go have fun with at the casino or to play bingo! And to all the fantastic people I have worked with over the years!”. She also wrote " If you are reading this obituary, it means I have gone on to the next level of my life".  Bev WILL definitely live on in the hearts of many!

Bev was a special lady; she had the best smile and a big heart. She was loved and will be missed by many. A memorial gathering and celebration of Bev’s life will be at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Alma on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mary Beth Scow. Burial will be at the Maiden Rock Cemetery.
