Bernadette Mary Duellman

Bernadette Mary (Konter) Duellman, 82, of Fountain City WI passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026 after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on March 28, 1944 to Roman and Rose (Konsela) Konter and grew up in Waumandee and Buffalo City. She married Elmer Duellman on October 27, 1962 in Fountain City, WI.

Bernadette was Elmer’s “right-hand woman” helping him operate their Fountain City based businesses: Elmer’s Auto Salvage, Elmer’s Sales and Service, Bernie’s Bargains, River Raceways, and Elmer’s Auto & Toy Museum. She was a strong woman who was always busy. She raised 6 children and volunteered with numerous local groups including Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Parish Council of Catholic Women at Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Fountain City. She had a home that was always open to everyone…. family, friends, business associates, employees, and would set anyone an extra plate or provide a bed without hesitation.

She is survived by six children; Les (Patti) Duellman, Rick (Peggy) Duellman, Brad (Jeanette Punches) Duellman, Melissa (Craig) Baker, Eric (Chelsey) Duellman, Amanda (Jason Hemphill) McKitty; 20 grandchildren Brittany (Drew), Brandon (Shanna), Kate, Elizabeth (Aidan), Suzanne, Hilary, Danica (Joe), Dorisa (Alex), Quinn (Alex), Glenn, Alexis (Mark), Andrew (Nazia), Natalie, Izabella, Jasmine, Kasheef, Jayden (Mallory), Jacob (Katrina), Janessa, Janaya; 7 great-grandchildren and, numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and good friends throughout the country.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, her parents, sisters Delores Laehn and Evelyn Baker, brothers Albert, Lonnie (infant) and Ray Konter, several in-laws, a niece, nephews, and special family member Tina Eveslage.

Visitation will be held at St Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fountain City, Wisconsin on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 5-8pm and again Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 9-10am, prior to the mass.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fountain City at 10am on Wednesday June 17, 2026. The rosary will be prayed starting at 8:30am. Burial will be immediately following at St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Fountain City. After mass and burial join the family for a luncheon back at the St Mary’s school hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts that will be used to support several of Bernie’s favorite local groups and charities.
