Arthur Louis Brantner, age 77, of Mondovi, WI, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Arthur was born to Lawrence and Julianna (Bauer) Brantner on October 1, 1947 in Mondovi, WI. Arthur was a lifelong resident of Mondovi, graduating from Mondovi High School in 1965.
Following his graduation, Arthur enrolled in a vocational education program for Drafting in Eau Claire, WI, and became a member of the Army National Guard
He and Deborah Garton were married in 1970 and to this union three children, Daniel, Jacquelyn and Troy, were born. They later divorced.
Arthur had a passion for farming but was a man of many talents. He worked as a forklift driver for Indianhead Warehouse, before returning to his love of farming and taking over the family dairy farm. After many years of farming, he transitioned to the Post Office serving as a clerk or mail carrier in Eleva, Strum, and Mondovi, where he was the Officer in Charge for a time. Whether he was working the nights or long days on the farm, he always found time to be with his family. Arthur was also an avid outdoorsman who loved boating, fishing, and hunting. He was an active member of the Power Squadron and enjoyed attending Truck and Tractor pulls. Later in life, Arthur went on several adventures throughout North America with his family.
Arthur was a skilled carpenter and built two homes, one using repurposed wood from a mill. He was always willing to help his children with home projects and remodels. Family gatherings were a priority for Arthur, and he would be the first to arrive and the last to leave, never skipping his signature long Brantner good-byes.
Arthur’s love for his family and his dedication to his work earned him the admiration and affection of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his children: Dan (Joy) Brantner, Jacquelyn (Shawn) McCoy, and Troy (Karen) Brantner; his three grandchildren, Preston Waugh, Alyssa Brantner, and Kristen Brantner; his sister, Kathleen Siepel; as well as many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Theresa Ableidinger (and Theresa’s husband Elgene), and his brother Lawrence Jr. (and Larry's wife Monica).
A Visitation will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Mondovi, WI on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM.
