Alma Dawn Cain was born on March 15, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to John and Sharron Cain. She passed away on October 13, 2025, age 65, at Mayo Health Care Center, Eau Claire, WI.
At the age of 29, she made Modena her home, a place where she would plant her roots and raise her family.
A kind and loving soul, Alma found her greatest joy in being a mother. She became a stay-at-home mom and cherished every moment spent with her children and their friends. Her home was always open, filled with laughter, love, and the comforting aroma of something delicious cooking on the stove. Alma had a true talent for cooking and canning—her homemade salsa was a family favorite. Her garden flourished under her care, though it never quite produced enough to keep up with her creativity in the kitchen. She often sought out extra produce to fill her family’s shelves with jars of goodness that lasted all year long.
Alma’s love of nature was evident to all who knew her. She found beauty in simple walks, often returning with little treasures—rocks, flowers, or bits of wood—to adorn her garden. Her flower beds bloomed with the same care and joy she poured into her family. Birds frequently visited her yard, adding to the peace she found in her outdoor sanctuary. Alma also held a special belief in the power of dreamcatchers, finding comfort and hope in their symbolism
Alma will be deeply missed by her soulmate, Dennis Urness and their children; Melissa (Wade) Stormer; Shane (Ashley) Urness and their children, Blakely and Greyson; Jonathan Schoening and his children, Evan and Ava; Kendra (Chad) Rosman and their children, Ashlyn, Odin, and Weston; and Thomas Urness. Siblings, Mark (Judy) Pendergast, Joseph (Cindy) Ciszewski, Phillip Ciszewski and Jean (Scott) Krejcarek.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents John and Sharron Cain.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM with an hour of visitation prior at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel. Gary Preston S.A.M. will be officiating.
