Albert J. Rud, age 85, of Mondovi, WI passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the Homeplace of Mondovi.
He was born on November 14, 1937 to parents, Carl and Ella (Bidney) Rud in the Town of Dover, Buffalo County, WI.
Albert attended and graduated from Gilmanton High School. After graduation, Albert began farming with his brothers and soon became the sole owner of the farm. Farming was in Albert’s blood and was his life.
On February 10, 1962, Albert was united in marriage to Marlene Steinke. To this union, four children were born. They later divorced.
Albert would love to sing and listen to music and will be remembered for being an avid and devoted sports fan of the Brewers, Badgers, Packers and Bucks.
He loved his family and would always make sure that they were well taken care of.
Albert is survived by his children, Rena LeDuc, Kim (Dennis) Serum, Kory (Lori) Rud and Ryan (Shannon) Rud, Sr.; 8 grandchildren, Danielle (Jared) Beseler, Chelsea (Ben) Krempasky, Brett (Casey) Serum, Brady (Kelsey) Serum, Reghan (O’Ryan Turner) Rud, Jarin Rud, Damontae Dewitt and Ryan Rud, Jr.; 9 great grandchildren, Jaxson, Breckan, Finley, Tyson, Teghan, Trey, Esdon, Emma and Zaylee; brother Norman (Rose) Rud; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially his dear G-Stop family.
Besides his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his siblings, Alton, Ruth, Ethelyn, Margaret, Orlyn, Carl and Eileen “Sissy”.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, rural Mondovi with Pastor Luke Pederson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
