Viola Marie Bollinger

Viola Marie (Oesau) Bollinger was born on November 14, 1929 and danced her way to her heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Viola was a resident of Alma, Wisconsin where she farmed with her late husband, Norman Bollinger lovingly known to all as “Bubs”. During the last year of her earthly life, Viola was cared for at Lake Winona Manor in Winona, MN. Viola was known to many as a polka-hop dancer. Viola and Bubs loved to dance and they shared this love with their children and grandchildren. Others know Viola as an active Y.M.C.A. member. Viola drove from Alma to Winona several times a week to remain active and participate in water aerobics. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting as well as painting and ceramics. Viola lovingly sewed quilts for her grandchildren and sewed several miniature bride dresses as well. Viola’s family will be forever grateful for the love she gave and the dancing, sewing, crocheting and knitting lessons. Viola’s earthly life will continue to impact her family as they remember her teachings and unwavering Christian faith. Viola will be forever missed by her 4 children, Fay (Ken) Passow, Roger (Jane) Bollinger and Allen (Dorothy) Bollinger all residing in Buffalo City, WI and Doris (Mark) Kubat of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Kuhn, Karen (Jason) Smith, Carissa Hull, Keith Bollinger, Kyle Kubat, and Katie Kubat; Michael (Nikki) Dittrich; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Lawson “Bucky” Kuhn and Kameron Hull; sister, Minerva (Willard) Ratz of Fountain City; also by other relatives and friends. Watching over Viola and her family are loved ones who preceded her in death, her husband, Norman “Bubs” Bollinger; daughter, Doreen; parents, Peter and Mary Oesau and brother, Marvin Oesau, Sr. A funeral service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Cochrane, WI on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Mark Wilde officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo City Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday at the church from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and then again at church on Monday from 11:00 am until the 12:00 pm service time.
