Steven Alvin Quarberg

Steven A. Quarberg, age 66 of Alma, WI passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 3, 2017. Steve, also called “Uncle Steve” was born to parents, Alvin and Anna Mae (Reidt) Quarberg on June 9, 1951. He grew up in Nelson and then Alma, WI. He was employed by Buffalo County Social Services until he retired. Steve’s longtime friend and Soul Sister, Donna Juleff, married to Larry Baker, Jr., and with the births of their sons, Brett and Joey, Steve had an “Adopted family”. His “boys” were very important to him and he enjoyed the many times he, Larry, Brett and Joey would go out fishing together. He taught Brett to play Cribbage and Chess and the first time Brett beat him at chess, he was pleased and proud. Joey would challenge him at other games; “his boys” brought him great joy and love. Steve had a passion for fishing, trap shooting, archery, skiing, and hunting. He had many stories of going on hunting trips with friends out West and gladly shared them. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan; he wore the Green and Gold proudly. Steve was kind, loving and always had a smile. Steve was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Sister Joan and brother-in-Law, Dan Alvord, his “adopted’’ family, Donna, Larry, Brett and Joey Baker, and many cousins and friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday September 14 at 3:00 PM until the hour of the service at 5:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma with Pastor Greg Ferriss officiating. A private family committal service will be held at Oakwood cemetery, Pepin, WI. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.talbotfuneralhomes.com
