Sharon Lou Loomis

Sharon Lou Loomis, age 78 of Mondovi, passed away at her home on Monday, November 2, 2020. She was born on April 29, 1942, in Wabasha, MN, to the late Lyman and Ina Anderson. Sharon grew up in Modena and graduated from Mondovi High School, class of 1960. She married Loren Loomis, her high school sweetheart, on September 1, 1962. Together they raised 3 children during their 57 years of marriage. Sharon spent the majority of her working years as a medical transcriptionist. Then fulfilling her dream, returned to school at age 50 and became a nurse. She was a long-time, active member of Central Lutheran Church. Sharon maked sure everyone was taken care of and put her family’s needs before herself. She looked forward to taking road trips with Loren as they vacationed throughout the United States. But most of all was the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sharon is sadly missed by her children: Brad Loomis of Minong, Todd (Kari) Loomis of Durand, and Julie (Kenneth) Miller of Trinity, NC; grandchildren: Jessica (Luke) Harder, Allen (Kimberly) Loomis, and Heidi Miller; great-grandchildren: Dayton Harder, Daisy Harder, Lily Harder, Jace Loomis, and Jack Loomis; brother: Donald (Julie) Anderson; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren, and her parents, Lyman and Ina Anderson. Due to covid restrictions the services will be limited to close family and friends. A memorial service for Sharon will be Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at 1:30pm at Central Lutheran Church, Mondovi, with Pastor Rolf Morck officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Riverside Lutheran Church, Mondovi. A memorial gathering will be held one hour prior to the service. Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel is assisting the family. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.talbotfuneralhomes.com.

Sharon was one of a kind, gentle of nature and always had time to speak to me. We shared fun times in triple trio in our high school days and when she lived in menomonie we sat on the front porch and listened to band concerts. We both had daughters named Julie. She will be a classmate that will always have a special place in my heart. Carol Larson Bloss Williams
