Ruby Anna Myren

Ruby Myren, age 88, formerly of Alma, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Moore Elderly Care Center, Rochester. The former Ruby Anna Schwartz was born in the Town of Nelson, Buffalo County on February 8, 1924, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna (Utes) Schwartz. Ruby graduated from the Alma High School and later the Alma Teachers College. On February 28, 1950 she married Palmer Myren and they resided on a farm in Lee Valley. She was a member of the Modena Lutheran Church and later attended Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Eyota, MN. Ruby will be remembered for her love of flower gardening, canning vegetables and especially for her impeccable penmanship and artistic abilities. She also had quite a knack for attracting and feeding hummingbirds, having over 40 or more at one time, her daughter recalls. First and foremost, Ruby's warm smile, the unconditional love and devotion she had for her entire family is what will remain in their hearts forever. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Richard) Butturff of Eyota; grandchildren, Craig (Jennifer) Butturff of Howard Lake, MN, Robert (Chasity) Myren of Mondovi, Perry (Tammy) Myren of Eau Claire, Shirley (Kevin) Conrad of Mondovi, Richard Haugh of Illinois; Sister in law Reathel Schroeder, 12 great grandchildren; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded by parents and husband Palmer and Son Ray Myren; brothers, Herman, Ben, John. Also by brother in laws; Ted, Helmer, and Orville Myren, and sister in law, Margie Myren. A memorial gathering will be at the Talbot Family Funeral Home in Alma, WI on Saturday November 24 at10:00 AM until the hour of the service at 11:00AM with Pastor Jon Vollrath officiating. Inurnment will follow at Modena Lutheran Cemetery.
