Merlin "Doc" Ebersold

Merlin “Doc” Ebersold, 94 of Pepin passed away Friday, July 10, 2020, at Advent Hospital in Durand. Merlin was born September 5, 1925, in Alma, WI a son of August and Bertina (Peterson) Ebersold. He married to Bethel Dodds in 1953. To this union, 3 children were born. Bethel preceded Merlin in death on October 23, 2018. Merlin honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army. Merlin will be remembered for his love of traveling, woodworking and anything that had an engine. Merlin is survived by his son, Glenn (Jennifer) of Eagan, Minn.; daughter, Faye (Chuck) House of St. Paul, Minn.; grandchildren, Caitlin House, Daniel Ebersold, Nathan House, Lauren Ebersold and Timothy Ebersold; special companion, Mona Lisa II, the cat; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Merlin was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tracy Ebersold; and by 7 siblings. Due to Covid 19, a private family funeral service will be held at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel. Merlin was laid to rest at the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, WI. The family would appreciate memorial donations in the name of Merlin Ebersold be directed to either the Pepin school lunch program at 510 Pine Street, Pepin, WI 54759 or the Pepin Emergency Ambulance Service at P.O. Box 387, Pepin, WI 54759. The family of Merlin would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire staff at Advent Hospital and Dr. Kenneth Rucker for the exceptional care and dignity they gave to him.
