Mary M. Risler, 102 of Mondovi, WI passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at the Home Place in Mondovi, where she resided for the past 6 ½ years. Mary was born on June 15, 1911 in the town of Lima in Pepin County to Michael and Mary (Zeilinger) Poeschel. She married Leo Risler on May 22, 1934. They were married for 62 yrs. Leo preceded her in death on June 5, 1996. They farmed in Pepin County until 1968, and then moved to Mondovi. They enjoyed travelling in their retirement years. Mary was an active and long-time member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, sewing quilts, trips to the casino, embroidery and baking pies. (No one made a better pie than our Mom.) Most of all, she enjoyed visits from her kids and grandkids. She will be remembered most for her sense of humor, generosity and her strong Christian faith. She is survived by four sons, Arnold (Elaine Hagen), Ron (Claudia), Gary, and Loren (Judy), all of Mondovi, two daughters, Glenda (Mark) Busch of Mondovi, and Bev Deutscher (Kevin Richardson) of Elk Mound. 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, Hubert, Clarence and Willis, daughter-in-laws Valerie and Marlene Risler and a son-in-law, Dave Deutscher. Visitation will be held on Saturday June 14th from 9-11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Mondovi and will be followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Mondovi. Talbot Family Funeral Homes of Mondovi assisted the family with arrangements.
