Marvis Marie Ritscher

Marvis Marie Ritscher age 87 of Alma, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha, MN on Friday August 7, 2015. Marvis was born on May 12, 1928 in Yankton, SD to Ulrich and Mabel (Glanzman) Reidt. Marvis grew up in Alma and graduated from the Alma High School. Marvis married Bergie Ritscher on April 20, 1949 at Zion Lutheran Church in Cream, WI. They were blessed with four children. Marvis and Bergie owned and operated the Ritscher General Store in Cream until its closing in 1967. Marvis loved her family, she showed it by providing for them wonderful home cooked meals and baked goods. Her family came first above all else. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, often attending one of many sporting events they participated in. Marvis and Bergie enjoyed traveling to many places across the country. Marvis enjoyed a good game of cards with friends and family. She was a lifetime member the Ladies Auxillary. Marvis will be forever in the hearts of her children Barry (Deb) of Alma, Kevin (Marie) of Nelson, Pam (Don) Hessler of Germantown, WI and Todd (Jill) of Alma; nine grandchildren, Stephen (Christal)Ritscher, Cody (fiancée Georgia Birtzer) Ritscher, Brady (Chelsey Glass) Ritscher, Ali (Alex Huber) Ritscher, Kyle Ritscher, Cole, Hailey and Lindsey Hessler and Caleb Ritscher; great grand daughter Ella Ann Ritscher, also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and a community of friends. Marvis was preceded in death by her husband , her parents and her brothers and sisters. A visitation will be held at St. John Lutheran Church on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 beginning at 10:00 AM with a service at 12:00 PM and burial to follow at Alma Memorial Cemetery.
