Joyce Anna Setterlund, age 81, of Glenwood City, WI passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. She was born on September 29, 1930 in Plum City, WI a daughter of the late John Alfred and Delores Irene (Gilles) Setterlund. Joyce attended University of Wisconsin-River Falls, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education in 1965. She was united in marriage on September 7, 1948 to the love of her life, Milton Westerberg in a double wedding with her twin sister, Janet at Stockholm, Wis. Milton preceded Joyce in death in 1958. Following a second marriage, which ended in divorce, Joyce took her back her maiden name of Setterlund. Joyce began a career in education that begun at Glenwood City in 1965. Her first year, Joyce was the Physical Ed. Teacher and the next year, started the art department and taught Glenwood City students until her retirement in 1990. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting and fishing with her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed softball. Joyce was a lady who had a passion and love to travel to destinations throughout the world. She was an avid sports fan and would watch with great interest the Packers, Badgers and Brewers games. Joyce was a lady by every definition. She had a gentle heart that was full of giving, not only to her family, a family she adored and loved so very much, but to all those in need. Her memory and love will live on in the hearts of those that were blessed to know her. Joyce will be sadly missed by her brother, Merle (Bette) Setterlund of St. Paul; sisters, LaVey (Earl) Anderson of Pepin, Kathleen (Chuck) Morth of Stockholm; her special friend, Jim Hoyt and his family; and also many special nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly and would do anything for. Besides her parents, two brothers, Bernie and Loyal and her twin sister Janet Larson along with her nephew, Tommy Setterlund preceded Joyce in death. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 29 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Glenwood City. Inurnment will be with her parents and twin sister at Plum City Union Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, June 29 one hour prior to the service at the church.
