Jon A. Fredrickson

Jon A. Fredrickson, age 60, of the Town of Dover, Buffalo County passed away at his home on Monday, February 11 with his loving family at his side following a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. He was born on August 24, 1952, a son of Maurice and Donna Fredrickson. Jon met Darcy Loomis while he coached summer softball. As time went by and their relationship grew, Jon and Darcy were united in marriage on July 8, 1978. To this union, three sons were born. Jon enjoyed living in rural Buffalo County and loved “playing” farm as his dairy operation was small. He loved his cows and time spent on his putt-putt tractors with his sons, and now with his grandson Everett. Jon was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Jon had a sense of humor that would always keep you second guessing. He loved to eat and found lutefisk to be quite the treat, right along with ice cream and chocolate. It was nothing to see Jon have 10-12 scoops of ice cream or caramel and chocolate candy. His favorite spot, Red Lobster for all you can eat shrimp scampi. Jon loved being outdoors. If you didn’t see him on the farm with his cows you would find him fishing in the stream behind the barn or trapping gophers. He also will be remembered for his control of the TV! Watching Bloomberg or RFD TV (ranch and farm TV) or late at night he would be watching Biblical shows. These are just a few of the many memories of Jon that are left for his family to cherish. Jon’s devout love and devotion to his wife, sons and his precious little grandchildren is the greatest memory of all. Jon will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of the past 34 years, Darcy; his three loving sons, Matthew (Sarah) of Sycamore, IL, Joshua (Michelle) of Hammond, WI and Adam of Mondovi; his precious grandchildren, Everett and Lillian Fredrickson and baby Fredrickson on the way; his parents, Maurice and Donna Fredrickson; step father, Lorn Gunderson; sisters, Joy (Mike) Dewyre, Holly (James) Hesselman; brother, David (Theresa); sisters in law, Debbie (Rod) Ellifson and Dawn (Bill) Cunningham; also by many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his dog “Ellie”. Preceding Jon in death are his best friend and brother, Jerry; grandparents, Fred and Clara Fredrickson, Clarence and Orma Lehman and his mother in law, Joan Gunderson. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 16 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor David Bangert officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, February 15 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel and again at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
