Duane W. Duellman, age 80, of Fountain City, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 He was born on February 11, 1938 in Fountain City at the home of his parents, Daniel and Esther (Walski) Duellman. Duane honorably served our Country as a soldier of the United States Army from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1959. On April 11, 1959, Duane was united in marriage to Kay Schmitt at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fountain City. To this loving union, six children were born. He was a longtime employee of the United States Corps of Engineers, retiring in 1999. Duane served on the Fountain City, City Council for several years. He will be remembered for his innate ability to fix or build or work with most anything, a trait that he was proud to have passed down to his sons. He was a man of great strength and a large giving heart never turning a friend away when they needed his shop. The strength and love that he provided to his entire family will always be remembered and never forgotten. Duane will be sadly missed by his wife of the past 59 years, Kay, of Fountain City; children, Lori (Mark) Beseler, Scott (Sandy) Duellman, Terry (Jeanette) Duellman, Joe (Becky) Duellman, Dan (Wilma) Duellman and Penny (Dale) Schmidtknecht; 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia, Bonnie and Kay; two brothers, David and Don; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Duane was preceded in death by his parents. A private family service and burial will be held at a later date. Talbot Family funeral homes is serving the family.
