She leaves behind to grieve her passing, her sister, Faye Schumacher of Cadott, Wisconsin, her uncle Bob Johnson of Aspen, Colorado, Niece Alantis Burish of Cadott; nephews, David (Natalia) Schumacher, Genesis Burish and one year old grand nephew Daniel, all of Aspen; and cousins, Steve Johnson of Eau Claire and Debbie Pavelski of Mondovi; also Uncles and Aunts, Marvin (Shirley) Schumacher, Ruth and Ted Gilbertson, and Jean Schumacher and many other relatives and friends. Dawn was preceded in death by her father and mother, Larry and Donna Johnson Schumacher; grand parents, Fred and Anna (Kleist) Schumacher, Albert and Goldene (Rosenow) Johnson; and Uncle Charles and Lenard Schumacher; cousin, Janet, and uncle and aunt, David and Marilyn Johnson. Dawn attended Robbins Elementary School and graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School, after which she graduated from Chippewa Valley Tech in the field of word processing. Being very talented in this field she was honored by being selected to represent the Eau Claire chapter of the FBLA in State competition and the OEA in national competition. After graduation Dawn worked for Strategic and also part time for American Girl Doll Company and Figis Candy. Working at Shotter’s Bar and Grill, she met and enjoyed many friends. As Dawn was a loyal Republican, she spent many hours volunteering at the party head-quarters in Eau Claire promoting the re-election of Governor Walker. Dawn really loved her little jersey Cows and was a member of the Washington Why Nots 4h club and the Eau Claire FFA. Showing jerseys at the Eau Claire County Fair, Northern Wisconsin State Fair, Minnesota State Fair, the World Dairy Expo and the All American jersey Show in Kentucky were highlights of her show ring experience. Dawn also won many ribbons at local fairs with her knitting, baking and photography projects. Dawn was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and was a member of the Mondovi chapter of the “Sons of Norway” and served as secretary of that organization. The family is very thankful that through Dawn’s efforts she was able to locate many of our relatives, both here in the States and in Norway, Germany and Switzerland. Dawn also helped to organize the Johnson, Veum, Christopherson and Peterson family reunion. She was instrumental in encouraging a group of our Norwegian relatives to fly to the USA to attend one of the reunions in Mondovi. A Memorial Service in Dawn’s memory will be held at 3 PM at the Martin Center in Mondovi on Saturday, January 17, 2015, Online condolences may be shared at www.talbotfuneralhomes.com
